Our Family Has Expanded!

We are excited to introduce you to Foxer our newly adopted dog!

Foxer joined our family on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at 5:18 p.m.

I'd been thinking that it would be fun for Paige to have a little tiny dog to love and cuddle. On Wednesday a friend at work convinced me to look at the Shelter and we found a dog on-line. Wednesday is the only night they stay open late so my friend went to see if it was something I'd like since I was unable to do so. The mini poodle we'd looked at had been adopted 30 minutes earlier but there was another dog he suggested looking at. Thursday during lunch two of my friends and I went to the Shelter. The dog Marcos had suggested wasn't an option - she was WAY too loud and too hyper - we didn't need another Daisy! We walked around and found a sweet little dog that rolled over when Anna put her hand in the cage. This dog had the best temperament. We asked to take Foxer to the play place and got to see what a great dog he is! I was hooked. Derrick got off work early that day and picked up Daisy and the kids. I wasn't going to get a dog if Daisy didn't like the dog or if the kids were scared. It was Love at First Site! Everyone, including Daisy, loved Foxer. Even the babies that were before scared of Daisy had fun petting him and walking him on his leash.


Foxer is a huge hit in our family! The dog that I thought would be mainly Paige's dog is fought over all day long!!! Everyone enjoys loving him. We had a lot of fun with him this weekend! He's truly in a family that loves him!!!

We Haz Jazz!

Parker and Paige participated in the Spring Choir Performance at school. We Haz Jazz was about the history of jazz.

Parker was Count Bassie and did a great job not only with the singing but his speaking parts (he had about 10 of them) and a tiny bit of acting. I can totally see Parker continuing with acting as he goes through school. He really seems to enjoy it!

Paige was a hobo and was the CUTEST hobo of any of them (no, I'm not saying that just because she's my daughter!). She wore her dad's torn work pants rolled up and held them up with a belt, one of daddy's flannel shirts half tucked in, make-up on her face for dirt and we used TONS of hairspray to get her hair messy. She always wants a lead role but gladly takes whatever she's assigned. I can see her continue with acting, also!!

I'm so proud of my kids for having the desire to take advantage of these opportunities. They do a great job!

Paige Turns 10!!

For Paige's 10th Birthday I decided to throw a little surprise birthday party for her (we haven't been doing birthday parties the last couple years and I only did this year because she was ON MY CASE for a party). Paige is usually very easy going and not demanding but not this year!!

We had the Williams' Family over for a pizza dinner, pinata (Derrick insisted on our Olympian Friend, Lynette, being the one to bust the pinata - he probably thought he'd be able to pull the pinata up and away from her but she's toooo good!), game of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey and cake and ice cream. It was fun to be together with friends and to celebrate our baby daughter turning a decade old!

Betsy Ross Biograpy by Paige

Paige's 4th Grade Biography Project was on Betsy Ross. She had to have "just the right outfit" which meant I had to make it for her (or pay too much money for a cheesy outfit). I took a day off work and made most of the dress she's wearing, another day I made the apron and her wonderful Grandma made the bonnet. She looked soooo adorable and did a great job on her presentation - she got an A!!!!! She was even the first one to do her presentation. She's an awesome daughter!

St. Patty's Day

Wednesday night has been Breakfast for Dinner at our house for many years. Derrick got home before me on St. Patty's Day so started making a VERY green breakfast for dinner. We had green eggs, toast w/ green butter, etc. It was soooo green I almost had a hard time eating it!!!
