New Responsibility for Parker

We FINALLY got a new lawn mower and were able to teach Parker to mow the lawn (our old lawn mower was way too hard to push, even though it was self propelled). Of course Porter was more interested in learning than Parker since he's 3 going on 30!!! It was a beautiful, cool, windy day - a nice day to be doing work outside.

California Sun

This afternoon I was outside talking to a good friend from work on the phone and noticed this evening that I got a little sunburn on my neck. I was shocked - it was't even that warm outside and here I am getting kissed by the sun in early March! It was such a beautiful Sunday afternoon - great company on the phone and beautiful weather!!!!

Brotherly Love

Last week I had the opportunity to pick up Paxton and Porter from school. I'd pick up Porter first then we'd go to Paxton's class and wait on campus until Paxton's HeadStart started 30 minutes later then Porter and I would go home and work while Porter played.

I enjoyed going to Porter's classroom and hearing the children sing their good-bye song. When each verse was sung a different child's name would be inserted and that child would go to their cubby, gather their items, and get in line to go home. I LOVED the excitement on Porter's face as I walked in the room then to see the sweet little skip in his step as he walked to his cubby. Porter is a priceless child - just full of life!

We'd then venture to Paxton's class where Paxton was also excited to see us as this isn't an every day occurrence that Mom is able to take him to go to HeadStart. The boys would play on the playground together. They'd do a lot of different things but I had to snap a couple pictures of them as Porter was pulling Paxton on the bike. This is so typical of their relationship - Porter is the leader and watches out for his big brother. I love the excitement on their faces and how they portray such pure, sweet happiness. I'm grateful for these simple and small moments in life that allow me to appreciate my children!!!

God's Hand in My Life

This week was one of my more difficult weeks physically, mentally, and emotionally. I had the opportunity to work from home in the afternoon's this week and almost daily saw my Heavenly Father's hand guiding the activities of each afternoon. I can't help but notice how blessed I am to know that I'm a Child of God, that he knows my name, knows exactly what I need and when I need it, never leaves me alone, and knows "the big picture".

I feel so grateful to have been born into a home where I was raised in the truthfulness of the gospel. I know I have a loving elder brother, Jesus Christ, who atoned for my sins and took on much more pain than I can ever think of bearing. I feel so blessed this week!

A Portrait of Mom

Today Porter told me he was going to draw a picture of me on the whiteboard. This is how the conversation went. "I draw a picture you, Mom. No peek 'til I done." Of course I had to sneak a peek and was reprimanded by him! He even drew my hair. This is how I feel my hair looks sometimes!!!! I think this is the best picture of me I've ever seen!!!!!

We love you, Porter!
